Summer is well and truly here and so is the July/August issue of Arena which tackles all of the important issues facing members in a lively and readable style. It's not everyday you see a General Secretary juggling outside the House of Commons but that's the front cover picture as John Hannett took the Supporting Parents and Carers campaign to the heart of government with specially commissioned juggling balls representing work, life and caring.
Recruitment features strongly in this issue with pride of place going to the national recruitment prize draw which offers the chance to win a car, a luxury holiday and thousands of pounds of shopping vouchers to members who recruit at least five members.
A special four-page pull-out gives a comprehensive explanation of what Usdaw has to offer. Young activists figure prominently with a close look at Argos reps, academy organisers and stand down reps also reflect the energy in evidence on the shopfloor across the UK. The annual black members weekend also reflects the diversity within Usdaw. With regular features on Legal Plus, media watch, news, divisional round up and exciting new competitions - it's worth taking a close look at Arena this summer
