Date: 11 November 2003
Usdaw is the major union organising exclusively in the private service sector with over 320,000 members. Of these, over 210,000 work in retailing, the industry where the existing National Minimum Wage has had a major impact and which is the biggest single sector employer of 16 and 17-year olds. Our experience and comments should be of major interest to the Commission.
