The right to request flexible working briefingDate: 20 July 2009
Parents have a legal right to ask their employer for changes in their working arrangements. Carers of adults now also have the right to request flexible working. Usdaw members who are parents or carers may want to use this new right to help them find positive solutions to the problems of juggling work with caring for children or adults. Under the new right, eligible parents and carers will have the right to ask for a change to one of the following:
