Play your part in Usdaw’s Minimum Wage Campaign
09 September 2003
Urgent help needed – what can you do to help us find out what 16 and 17 year olds really earn? Usdaw is campaigning for 16 and 17 year olds to receive a minimum wage. We urgently need information to use in our submission to the Low Pay Commission.
Usdaw believes that 16 and 17 year-olds need the protection of a National Minimum Wage. The Low Pay Commission has invited organisations to submit their evidence to them during October. Usdaw is currently putting together its submission and we need some real life examples of the pay and conditions of 16 and 17 year olds.
• Do you know any 16 or 17 year olds in work who you can ask about their pay and conditions?
• Can you spare any time to look in your local job centre/recruitment agency to get some details?
• Or can you phone round employers who are advertising jobs in the local press?
Download a short survey form below. It will only take a minute or two to complete but will be of great help to our campaign.
Please either post the completed forms to: Carl Parker, Usdaw, FREEPOST, Manchester, M14 7DJ, or e-mail them back to us at: nmw@usdaw.org.uk
Please return your completed forms by 10th October.
