Guidance on working in high temperatures
There is currently no maximum working temperature but legislation is in place to ensure your employer maintains a reasonable temperature in your workplace.
At temperatures above about 25°C heat exhaustion can start with increased accidents, loss of concentration and productivity. Symptoms include dizziness, headaches, nausea and fainting with up to two pints of water an hour being lost through sweating. If fluids and salt are not replaced nausea, vomiting and muscle cramps can occur.
