New agreement signed with sunrise solutions

Usdaw has signed a recognition and procedural agreement with Blackpool-based Sunrise Solutions – a company which supplies fixed term labour from the UK and Europe mainly for the food manufacturing sector.

It is an important step in Usdaw's campaign to reach out to all workers in sectors where the union organises. "This agreement allows us to speak to workers at inductions and to promote how the union can help its members," said general secretary John Hannett.

"Agencies are playing a bigger role in the supply of labour in a number of sectors and it's important these workers are introduced to the union at the earliest opportunity."

Business development director Jason Talbot said: "We are registered with the Government's Gangmaster Licensing Authority and aim to provide a reliable, security checked and legal workforce from either the local workforce or from abroad."
