Brent Cross taster day

Phil Gander, lifelong learning project worker, Eastern division

The Check Out Learning promotion day held at Tesco Brent Cross during membership week was a great success. Reps Patricia Darby, Navi Malik and Jeremy Hearn recruited ten new members, three reps and over 50 people completed questionnaires showing their interest in future courses.

The day included numeracy, literacy and ICT tasters alongside aromatherapy, reflexology and Indian head massage which staff were queuing up for!

Store manager Jonathan Reeve said it was a very worthwhile day and that the staff had been looking forward to it for weeks.

New member Nelson Obanor, who has worked for Tesco for four years, signed up for English and computer courses and said it was a great day and nice to know that the union gets involved with things like this as well as helping you with any problems.

Well done to all involved.
