Brackmills depot to close

Usdaw is holding urgent talks with members and Tesco managers after it was announced that the company plans to close its Brackmills Distribution Centre.

"This is devastating news for our members coming so soon after the busy Christmas period," said Midlands divisional officer Gary Holz. "Officials and our hard working reps will be doing everything they can to explore alternatives to closure.

"We will be taking full advantage of the 90 day consultation period to look at the business plan behind this decision. We will be working hard to ensure our members are provided with practical help and support so that they are aware of all the opportunities available to them."
