Network Journal 2007 Issue 4 July/Aug

Help at hand

The Disability Rights Commission and the TUC have produced a new guide called ‘Getting the best out of the employment experience’.

The guide equips reps with the knowledge they need to help challenge the discrimination faced by members with mental health problems.

It provides information on reasonable adjustments for members with mental health problems and outlines ways in which the Disability Discrimination Act can be used to support members with mental health problems.

It also helps reps to resolve problems that arise in the workplace and gives best practice examples of how to create a mentally healthy workplace.
