Network Journal 2007 Issue 2 March/April

Millennium makers

David Johnson, area organiser, Bristol.

I challenge any Usdaw branch to beat the fantastic level of loyalty shown by members at Bristol A34 who between them have amassed more than 1,190 years' membership - and that's for just 20 members.

This magnificent achievement was celebrated earlier this year at a special function which was attended by the general and deputy general secretary John Hannett and Paddy Lillis.

We had eight members with 70 years' service, five with 60 years', six with 50, and one with 30 years' service.

On behalf of everyone in the division I'd like to congratulate all 20 members for their outstanding show of commitment and dedication to the union and wish them many more years of membership.
