Get online, get active and join the debate

With more than 783,000 hits in 2006 Usdaw’s award winning web site www.usdaw.org.uk is now a well-established tool for activists across the UK – available 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Whether your role is union Rep, Health and Safety, Lifelong Learning, Branch Officer, member or non-member, the site has something for everyone.

In the last year visitors viewed more than 2,600,000 pages and over 3,550 people applied to join online.

News

For all the latest press releases click onto the newsroom section where you can also view previous releases in the archives. It is here you will find policy statements and comment. Subscribe to the e-mail news alert and you can have them e-mailed directly to you at home or work. You can have your say by taking part in one of the many online polls.

Campaigns

Usdaw is a campaigning union and has had a number of successes over the years. Make sure you play your part by getting involved in one or more of our many campaigns, which include Supporting Parents and Carers, Freedom From Fear, Union4marks, Minimum Wage, Young Workers and Protect Christmas Day and New Year's Day in Scotland.

Get active

There's something for everyone in the get active section to help Reps play a bigger role in their workplace and the union. This area of the site has tips on successful organising and the union's training opportunities as well as information on Usdaw's own organising academy. There is also a range of helpful resources and a toolkit for reps to help you get started.

Learning

Union Learning Reps can keep up-to-date with all the latest news and information on Lifelong Learning. Find out about workplace Learning committees and learning agreements as well as how to set up a learning centre in your workplace. You can also access all the latest Lifelong Learning resources and keep up-to-date with national and local events in your area.

Safety

If you're interested in health and safety then check out our specialist site for everything you need to know about health and safety in your workplace.

The site provides a variety of useful guides, posters and a full range of resource materials including the Safety Reps Toolkit. Check out our A - Z list of health and safety hazards and sign up for regular health and safety e-mail alerts. You can also join our discussion forum and access a variety of frequently asked questions on a range of subjects including working temperatures and lone working.

Pensions

If you want to know more about pensions, then visit our new pensions section where you can find out about how company and state pension schemes work in a simple and understandable way. Use our special pension finder to view a number of company pension schemes and find out more about your employer's scheme and how to join.

You can also access information on how to become a Pension Rep or Pension Trustee.

Politics

You can also get more involved with the Labour Party and the union's political work and access a range of resources to keep up-to-date with all the latest political news and views.
