Co-operate
John Round, Sheffield F163.
I was interested to read about the latest initiative at the co-op in last year's Network.
I was chairman for Sheffield branch for more than 15 years and worked for the co-op for 35 years.
We achieved results by a number of methods. First and foremost we did co-operate, although this seems obvious, it's important to remember because it works both ways. If you give a little you will get something back.
Reps are important and if they prepare their case, bear in mind management's point of view and don't make over the top demands, they'll go far.
Well-trained reps are often more knowledgeable than some managers and if the reps work together will deliver a great service to members.
