Northern Ireland boost
Usdaw membership in Northern Ireland, part of North West division, is now at its highest ever level, said General Secretary John Hannett.
"We now have more than 11,000 members there and that's down to the hard work of the reps, organising officers, and officials who have pulled out all the stops to boost our presence in the country," said John.
"If we can continue with this level of growth we could become the biggest union in Northern Ireland.
"Sometimes it's easy to overlook our Northern Irish membership which is unfair. However, these latest figures have put them right back on the Usdaw map.
"We have clear plans for Northern Ireland which is a vital part of our overall divisional strategy. We will be looking to build on our success and take the union's message and services to even more members and reps next year."
Northern Ireland reps in focus
Reps in Northern Ireland turned out in force for their divisional conference in Belfast in November. John Hannett, Paddy Lillis and Mike Aylward joined delegates to review the last 12 months and look forward to next year. "Usdaw is fully committed to building our membership in Northern Ireland," said John Hannett.
