Construction boss jailed
The boss of a construction company in Wales was given an 18-month custodial sentence for manslaughter following the death of one of his employees.
Wayne Davies was found guilty of failing to protect the safety of his employees following the death of Mark Jones, 40. Another employee was seriously injured when machinery tipped over during a job which involved working on top of a barn roof.
Wayne Davies was also found guilty of failing in his responsibility to provide safe and suitable means of working at height.
Davies was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for manslaughter, although no separate penalties were awarded for the health and safety breaches.
