Capital safety plan

Moving Goods Safely (MGS) is a London-wide initiative involving the HSE, Local Authorities, the regional TUC and employers working in partnership to reduce injuries and ill-health arising from the movement of goods.

The aim of the project is to look at the whole supply chain from the factory to the shop. It includes co-ordinated inspections of multi-site organisations by Local Authority and HSE teams. These will focus on workplace transport, musculoskeletal disorders, slips and other risks. The plan is to roll the campaign out nationally in 2007.

More at the HSE's website: www.hse.gov.uk/movinggoods/index.htm

Reps in the London area can contact the HSE on: moving.goods@hse.gsi.gov.uk
