Shop Direct in jobs switch

The union is in talks with the management of the Littlewoods Shop Direct Group (LSDG) after the company announced a major reorganisation of its home shopping business.

More than 1,000 jobs will be moved out of Manchester to Merseyside as the company, owned by the Barclay family, relocates its headquarters.

LSDG is made up of the home shopping divisions of GUS and Littlewoods bought by the Barclay family in 2003 and 2002 respectively.
