Usdaw to meet with Argos over job descriptions

Usdaw has been meeting with catalogue chain Argos after the company announced proposals to change the job descriptions and working hours of around 1,500 staff.

Argos, part of the GUS group, employs around 21,000 people in its 604 stores. It bought 30 Index stores earlier this year and is now the dominant force in high street catalogue shopping.

The next meeting is scheduled for mid September. A further update will be given in the September/October issue of Arena.
