Network Journal 2005 Issue 2

Stand up for safer streets

The Taking a Stand Awards are all about recognising those who have tackled anti-social behaviour in their area.

The government-backed scheme recognises individuals and local groups who have shown commitment and bravery in tackling anti-social behaviour problems in their communities such as vandalism, nuisance neighbours, graffiti, harassment, intimidation and rubbish dumping.

Anyone who has made a real difference to their community can apply. Whether your nomination is an individual, local group or project, what matters is that it has made a difference in your community and we want to hear from you!

Nominations are called for from individuals and community groups for the 2004 awards, the second year of the scheme.

To nominate your local heroes, please call: 0800 085 2980. Or to nominate online visit the web site: www.crimereduction.gov.uk/takingastand

The deadline for nominations is September 28, 2005
