Divisions plan quality training for active reps

Members and reps will have a wealth of training courses to choose from in 2004 as divisions organise their schedule for the year ahead.

Day schools, weekends, and get-togethers will offer reps a structured approach to recruitment and give practical tips on how to get the most out of workplace organisation. In the North Eastern division courses have already begun, others planned include:

  • 28-29 Feb, a weekend in Scarborough for women reps and members.
  • 15-16 May, a weekend school for new and experienced reps.
  • 16-17 May, a youth weekend in Darlington.
  • 22-23 May, a political weekend in Whitby.
  • 12-13 June, a course for Morrisons reps on the importance of induction.
  • 9-10 October, for new shop stewards.
Other courses for reps in the industrial sectors will also be arranged. Further details are available from deputy divisional officer John Radigan at Leeds (0113 202 6000). In Scotland activists will have a number of courses on offer including:

  • 8-10 March, safety reps, Glasgow.
  • 16-18 March, safety reps, Edinburgh.
  • 22-24, Tesco reps, Glasgow.
  • 5-7 April, shop stewards, Aberdeen.
