Web site will aid members www.usdaw.org.uk
Usdaw’s impressive web site entertained more than 15,000 visitors, who viewed in excess of 76,000 pages, during November.
More than 480 members have signed up using the online joining facility since June, with many more expected over the coming months.
The most popular resources were the workers rights leaflet, the safety guide 'six pack', the new political booklet, What's the Labour Government ever done for us? and the professional drivers' handbook.
More than 3,500 members have now subscribed to the e-mail news service and receive regular updates.
The site is a big hit with members who have e-mailed the following comments:
"Congratulations on a brilliant web site. I'm a union and H&S rep for Usdaw and the site has vastly improved. The 'Ask Jan' page is especially good."
"Good information about Sunday trading and about working in the heat. I know if I am unsure about my rights at work I can go on the web site for advice, as I have no rep where I work."
"The web site is much more professional, full of useful help and up-to-date news. I will encourage my members to look at it. Well done."
"This is an excellent way to keep us abreast of what our union is doing and thinking. I pick up my e-mail every day, and have read each Usdaw bulletin."
