Your chance to join Usdaw’s winning Academy
Usdaw is looking for up to fifteen active members to join next year’s Organising Academy. The union is committed to running the Academy next year, because the pilot project this year was so successful.
What you need to know
- The Academy runs for six months.
- You will be expected to recruit and organise in sectors with and without union members.
- You will be expected to spend time away from home.
- You will receive specialised training during the six months.
- Next year's Academy will run from May to November.
- Usdaw will pay your wages.
- You will return to your employment after six months with an accredited training qualification.
What type of people applied last year?
- Members who had experience of recruitment and organising in their workplace or who had similar experience.
- Men and women from all age, ethnic, and occupational backgrounds, with the drive, enthusiasm and commitment to Usdaw.
