Health and Safety
The union aims to prevent accidents and ill-health and to reduce the hidden hazards faced by Usdaw members through the work of health and safety reps.

Help us recruit
Recruiting new members is an important task for everyone in Usdaw. Why not e-mail a friend about joining Usdaw!

Lesbian and gay members
Usdaw has a network of lesbian and gay members and organises a get-together at the Annual Delegate Meeting for lesbian and gay delegates and visitors. We recognise that many lesbians and gay men face discrimination and harassment at work. Usdaw is committed to representing and involving its lesbian and gay members and we are supporting the TUC's campaign for anti-discrimination legislation.

Organising Academy
Usdaw’s organising academy has been a huge success with a staggering 11,250 new members, and hundreds of new reps, recruited in the last two years.

Race Equality
Would you like to get Involved with Usdaw's Race Relations Committee? We're committed to promoting racial equality - but we can't do it on our own! Usdaw's Race Relations Committee would like to hear from Black and Asian Members who are interested in getting involved

Sata
Sata, Supervisory, Administrative and Technical Association, is the professional and managerial section of Usdaw.

Training
Usdaw offers first-class training for members who want to play a more active part in the union as well as for all our elected reps. Training ranges from one-day workshops to three-day courses for new shop stewards and a week long summer school.

Usdaw Youth
The problems facing young workers have the special attention of Usdaw, notably in relation to rates of pay, training, further education opportunities and the difficulties faced by trainees.

Usdaw's Transport Section for all professional drivers
We look after the interests of Usdaw members who drive for a living. This includes representation on pay and conditions of employment.

Women
Women have always played a major role in Usdaw and make up approximately two-thirds of the membership. The union has a women's committee in each of its seven divisions and one at national level. The women's committees also provide important information to Usdaw members through a wide range of leaflets and booklets.
