If I refuse to work on Sunday will I suffer a cut in hours?

That depends on what you did before August 1994. If you had a contract of employment which could include Sunday working and you have done work on a Sunday then after 26 August 1994 you have the right to refuse Sunday work but your employer does not have to top up your hours by giving you extra during the week. Your employer cannot cut your normal weekday hours.

If your contract did not cover Sunday working and/or you have never done Sunday work before or after the Act you cannot have your hours cut for refusing to work on Sundays.
