Not entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay? Don’t panic...(A5 Flyer)

...You may be entitled to Maternity Allowance instead.
Some women aren't entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay
(SMP) because either:
- Their earnings are too low.
or
- They haven't worked for their employer
for long enough.
If you don't qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay,
claim Maternity Allowance instead. You only
need to be earning over £30 a week to qualify.
Ask your antenatal clinic or contact your local
Jobcentre Plus for a Maternity Allowance claim
form (MA1). Fill it in and send it back with your:
- SMP 1 form (the form your employer gives to
you confirming that you aren't entitled to SMP).
- MAT B1 form (the form your GP or midwife
gives to you at around week 26 of your pregnancy).
If you don't have either one of the above forms
to hand, don't delay your claim. Forward the
above evidence as soon as you have it.
