Supporting Parents and Carers' Spotlight Day – Fair Play for Working Carers postcardDate: 09 May 2008
The Government’s review of the existing National Carers Strategy will shortly be publishing proposals for consultation. Carers across Britain have high expectations that the review will make a real difference to them. It is vitally important that any proposed changes to rights and benefits are backed up by the necessary resources to deliver them. Usdaw is looking for significant changes to Carer's Allowance to allow more low-paid working carers access to this important benefit. At present there is little flexibility, with carers losing all of their Allowance when they earn just a few pence over the earnings threshold of £95 per week.
You can get copies of this postcard from the Stationery department at Central Office or you can download the postcard at the end of this text and return in an envelope (no stamp needed). Visit our Supporting Parents and Carers campaign section for all the latest news and more helpful resources. Fair Play for Working Carers postcard was correct at date of publication May 2008.
