Major new guide for working parents and carers

30 June 2003

We know that our reps are doing a great job supporting and representing parents and carers at work. To help you with this we have produced a new guide for working parents and carers.

A guide for working parents and carers
A guide for working parents and carers

The guide gives you:

  • Up-to-date advice on parents and carers' rights.
  • Suggestions for how to work through some of the most common problems members might bring to you.
  • Arguments to use with your employer if you want to try and persuade them to improve rights for parents and carers at your workplace.

Before writing the guide, we ran a survey of over 7000 of our activists to ask them for their views on what working parents and carers want. Hundreds of members responded. The voices of those members are spread throughout the guide. We hope it will be of use to all those reps that are trying to win a better deal for parents and carers at work. To order a copy of the new guide please telephone Central Office on 0161-224 2804 or e-mail our Stationery Department.
