Sparks at marks

Struggling retailer Marks and Spencer angered staff last month when news of its intention to cut their employees’ redundancy package were leaked to the press.


Staff fear this is a prelude to wide-ranging job cuts. The company eventually introduced cuts to both the maximum payouts and the formula for calculating redundancy. The company has since sacked the 'whistleblower' at its head office in London.
