Shopworkers are here to help…

24 June 2005

...But in 2003; 19,000 were assaulted; 127,000 were threatened; 146,000 were verbally abused.

Employers, unions and the police agree the problem is getting worse. Attacks and abuse wrecks lives:

"I work in a normal store. But we get abuse day in and day out. We never know when the next attack will be or who will get hurt. It makes you afraid to go to work. No one should have to live like that."

Enough is enough

Usdaw, the retail union, is campaigning to protect shopworkers from violence and abuse. Join us.

Respect for Shopworkers Day - 13 July 2005.

"Shopworkers are there for us every day of the year. They don't have it easy. If you're stressed and in a shop, please think twice - give the staff some respect. They deserve it."
