Comprehensive cover for Dwayne
Warehouseman Dwayne Selio was thrown 30 feet along the road and sustained serious injuries when he was hit by a car while travelling home from work on his motorbike.
He was in hospital for three weeks and off work for a year, but thanks to Legal Plus he received a cheque for £41,000 and is now well on the road to recovery.
"The accident happened four years ago after I'd left the depot at Tesco distribution in Magor, Newport," said the 41 year-old. "It all happened very quickly. I was in a lot of pain and couldn't move my arm or leg. I was rushed to the local hospital in Gwent."
Dwayne had to have an operation on his leg and a skin graft.
"Thankfully my wife contacted the union while I was in hospital," said Dwayne. "I filled in the forms and within no time at all I had an Usdaw appointed solicitor looking after my claim. Many people don't realise your union membership covers you while travelling to and from work.
"I've called on the union twice before for help and on both occasions had a top class service. I felt confident that it would be no different this time and I wasn't disappointed. The union couldn't do enough for me, it gave me real peace of mind."
Remember!
Legal Plus also covers members for any accident - any time, any place - not just at work. It can also provide advice and assistance in road traffic accident cases for members' families, who share the same household.
