Blair s.o.s

The Prime Minister will listen carefully to Usdaw’s case against more Sunday opening hours.

The pledge came after Tony Blair had made a special visit to the union's annual conference in Blackpool in April where more than 1,500 members listened intently to his rousing speech.

"I will meet with John Hannett on this very issue," said the premier. "Usdaw has a good track record of arguing its case in a responsible manner and in a way which gets the best benefit for its members."
