In the red
Home shopping group Littlewoods Shop Direct, owned by the Barclay family, went into the red last year after losses at its now closed Index catalogue chain.
The company accounts recorded a pre-tax loss of £56 million in the year to April last year which saw the company close its Index stores and sell its Littlewoods retail chain to Primark.
Underlying profits at Shop Direct rose to £40 million before the Index losses were factored in.
