No hidden fees at Usdaw
Checkout operator Yvonne Fee dislocated her finger when a shoplifter kicked her, but thanks to Usdaw she received more than £3,800 from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.
"The support from Usdaw was fantastic," said Yvonne, 63, who works for Poundstretcher in South Humberside.
"I had expert advice every step of the way. The union are always on hand to help with all sorts of problems inside and outside of work," added Yvonne. "On the strength of my success I've recruited three more people into the union at my workplace."
A quality service from start to finish - that's what heavy goods driver Gerald O'Keefe said when he received more than £52,000 in compensation after an accident at work.
A serious head injury meant Gerald, 63, who worked for Sunlight Laundry in Chorley, Lancashire, was unable to return to work.
"At my time of life financial security is very important and now I have that," he said.
"The union was always there when I needed them, everything was paid for. There were no hidden costs and nothing for me to pay. You can't ask for a better service."
