Banana link campaign

Reps and officials gave their backing to the banana link campaign which promotes fair trade for Latin America's plantation workers where employees face intimidation, violence and dismissal if they attempt to form a trade union.

Health and safety is also a major problem with chemicals causing skin and respiratory problems. Union worker Carmen Benegas from Ecuador visited the Scottish divisional office to tell us of the difficulties faced by her fellow workers. It was a real eye-opener. More at: www.bananalink.org.uk
