Arena Magazine 2005 Issue 1

Award winning web site open all hours

If it’s happening in Usdaw, you’ll find it on the union’s web site and tens of thousands of members are discovering how important and vital this method of communication is.

Employment rights, maternity entitlement, workplace safety, tax credits and much much more is available at the click of a mouse every minute of the day.

www.usdaw.org.uk is a comprehensive catalogue of what the union has published on everything from health and safety, legal booklets, advice leaflets to Arena/Network articles and the latest press releases and news from central office.

You can download or print the vast majority of these leaflets and booklets which provide information quickly and efficiently 24/7. You can also access all of the latest campaign news, resources, surveys, petitions and lots more.

There is also the 'Ask Jan' facility which allows visitors to the site to send in questions on work-related issues which are then dealt with by the appropriate official. This has proved very popular with more than a thousand questions sent in during 2004.

You can also join Usdaw online as more than 1,400 people did last year. Once completed, the electronic form is processed at central office and a request for a signature is sent out to the applicant.

Why not subscribe to the union's e-mail alert service which sends you the latest news bulletins from head office direct to your computer - whether that's at home or at work. Just log on to the site and enter your details.

Education courses are listed and you can find out where and when you can get on a training course. You can also view the lifelong learning section.

With plans to continually improve and add to the service on offer, the web site is the place to go for all your Usdaw information.
