Top training on offer
Understanding how the union operates locally, regionally and nationally was part of the five-day residential course designed exclusively for branch officials.
Late last year ten of Usdaw's recently elected branch officers took advantage of the tailor-made course held at the national training centre in Warrington, Cheshire.
Activists also heard from the general secretary and his deputy as well as from heads of departments based at central office. Sue Patel was one of the ten branch officers. "Very interesting and very worthwhile," she said. "There's a lot to learn. An amazing week and I got a great deal from the course."
