Quality service always on offer
There were no hidden costs or fees for Tesco driver Christine Moat when Usdaw won her £10,000 in compensation after she was attacked by a customer’s dog.
"If it hadn't been for the union's support I wouldn't have been able to put a claim in," said the 50 year-old. "Usdaw was marvellous. Having Usdaw on my side gave me a real feeling of security. The union delivered in a very short period of time."
The attack happened in June 2003 when Christine was making a home delivery to a house in Dursley, Gloucestershire. An Alsatian dog savaged her right wrist and thigh. "I was bleeding profusely," said Christine.
"It was a terrifying experience. I had nightmares for a long time and I couldn't drive for six months, it was horrendous." Christine still gets pain in her thigh and has permanent scarring.
"Usdaw's help was invaluable," she said. "My case was finalised last year and I was delighted with the settlement."
