Double celebration for award winner Denise
Congratulations go to Usdaw’s Denise Gordon after she picked up the first ever TUC award for the Best Workplace Learning Centre.
The award was presented to Denise by Adult Skills Minister Ivan Lewis MP.
The award was part of a double celebration for Denise, who has recently taken up a new position as a Lifelong Learning project worker with Usdaw. The former home shopping employee, and union activist, had been instrumental in the success of the Lifelong Learning centre at the Littlewoods site in Shaw, Oldham.
"It was great to get an award for doing something that I've really enjoyed," said Denise.
"I'd like to thank Usdaw's Education Department, TUC Learning Services and all the reps at the Littlewoods distribution site at Shaw who have helped make a success of the Learndirect centre. I'm now looking forward to my new job."
