New national women’s team
The newly elected National Women’s Committee is now in place and will serve for a three year term of office.
Divisional reps met up at Central Office, with Women and Equalities Officer Ruth Cross, for a two day meeting to familiarise themselves with the union's national structures.
The union operates women's committees in all of its seven divisions, which encourage and promote the involvement of women members and reps across all of the Usdaw trades.
"The committees have proved invaluable in promoting the work of women in Usdaw," said Ruth Cross. "They have a long tradition within the union and I would urge any member who wants to get more involved in the work of the women's committees to contact their local Usdaw office."
