Political profile puts safety first

Hornchurch MP John Cryer showed his support for the campaign when he visited the Tesco store in Rainham, Essex.

Area Organiser Kim Murphy arranged the visit. "The members really appreciated John's support," she said. "It gave him the opportunity to speak to staff and find out more about the campaign. John took away a load of leaflets and other campaign material to bring him up to speed on the issue.

"The local store management were very supportive. We have a strong membership here and the campaign has attracted widespread support."

Freedom From Fear has attracted the support of a parliamentary early day motion which more than 100 MPs have backed so far. The campaign has also been the subject of a House of Commons debate when Tom Watson MP outlined its aims and objectives.
