Prize winners cash in at Next
Five Usdaw members at Next Distribution in West Yorkshire are celebrating after winning thousands of pounds as part of the rewarding attendance scheme negotiated by the union.
Four members won £1,000 each after their names were pulled out of the hat, and a fifth lucky member won a car worth £10,000.
Divisional Officer Mike Brewer paid tribute to the officers and lay members who negotiated the deal. "This has paid handsomely for our members who have won these fantastic prizes. The company has also benefited, with absence cut by half, it's a win-win situation for both parties."
Winner of the car was Saqib Shah, whose perfect attendance won him top prize. "This came as a huge, but welcome, surprise," he said. "Well done to Usdaw and Next for introducing the scheme."
The four winners of the £1,000 prizes were; Tony White, Dawn Bell, Brenda Pattison, and Debra Hutchinson. All members of staff across the company's six warehouses, with perfect attendance, are entered into the draw which has proved very popular with workers at the sites.
