Jacqui speaks her mind

Petrol station worker Jacqui Clarke was ‘gobsmacked’ by the level and amount of abuse she and her colleagues received while they were at work.

The 55 year-old was taken aback by the abusive, rude and threatening customers she had to put up with in her Bristol workplace.

"I'm right behind the campaign," she said. "People shouldn't be afraid to go to work. It's not acceptable for customers to swear and abuse staff just because they are in a hurry or they've had a bad day.

"Customers should spare a thought for shopworkers who are trying to serve them as quickly as possible. Sometimes it takes longer than we would like, but it's usually not our fault. This campaign is raising awareness and I'm proud to be part of it."

Jacqui went to Downing Street to help promote the Freedom From Fear campaign and has also featured in the local press.
