''If enough of our
UK staff wanted us to recognise a trade union we would of course
respect their wishes''.
Kate Kelly, M&S
Head of Employee Relations and Reward. Jan
2007.
M&S union members have
told Usdaw that since the B.I.G. Group was created to 'represent'
their interests, individual terms and conditions that were once the
envy of other retail workers have been gradually eroded.
The B.I.G. Group has clearly
failed to halt the erosion of the terms and conditions of M&S
staff - now it's time to join Usdaw.
Six BIG reasons to join
Usdaw
- FREE professional employment advice and
representation at grievances and disciplinaries.
- FREE Legal Plus service for any accident
anywhere in the UK plus extended services including will writing
and conveyancing.
- FREE health and safety advice and pensions
advice.
- Access to FREE Lifelong Learning courses to
boost your confidence and work prospects.
- Access to a range of FREE Usdaw publications
and a special M&S web page at http://www.usdaw.org.uk/campaigns/union4marks/
- To be fully consulted and informed about changes to terms and
conditions.
Joining Usdaw is simple.
Many M&S staff have already signed up across the UK because
they want an independent union to represent their interests.
Wherever you work, an Usdaw
official (Area Organiser) is not far away. For further information
or assistance, contact the Usdaw divisional
office.
Alternatively you can phone
our Helpline 0845 6060640 (calls charged at local rate) to
connect you to your divisional
office.
You can also join Usdaw
online or e-mail: union4marks@usdaw.org.uk
