Shepherds Friendly Saving and Investment Plans

At Shepherds Friendly, we have partnered with Usdaw to provide their members with a range of tax-efficient investment and savings plans for the whole family:

As an Usdaw member, you have access to an exclusive offer from Shepherds Friendly, which is an ISA Boost of up to £105*, just for opening an investment or savings plan and making your first deposit.

We’re a member focused organisation too, so we feel we have similar values to Usdaw. We were founded in 1826 so have almost 200 years’ experience in the financial industry, where our focus has always been on protecting our members’ best interests. Additionally, over nine out of 10 members would recommend us to a friend, and we have an average rating of almost 5 stars from over 1,000 independent reviews on reviews.co.uk.

Our ISAs

Stocks and Shares ISA

Historically, stocks and shares have on average performed better than cash savings accounts, so if you're looking to plan for your long-term future then a Stocks and Shares ISA could give you a better chance of returns that will outpace inflation. Shepherds Friendly aim to pay a quarterly bonus to help your investment grow and have paid out bonuses for 16 consecutive years, although as with any investment this is not guaranteed.

So whether you’re saving for a holiday, a new car or a new home, take advantage of your annual ISA allowance to make the most of your savings. Savings start from just £30 a month, but you can also choose to pay in lump sums as and when you please, without the need for a monthly commitment. We’re here for you when you need the money too, and we don’t charge you a fee for making a withdrawal from your ISA.

Junior ISA

Would you like to provide your child with a nest egg to help get them off to a better start in adult life? Whether you want to help your child with the costs of university, buy their first car or even put something towards a deposit on their first home, then a Junior ISA can help you to achieve that.

You can choose a saving style to suit you and your child, from regular monthly payments of £10 at a time, to lump sum deposits when you wish. To open a plan with a lump sum, you simply need to deposit an initial minimum amount of £100, followed by further investments of at least £10 at a time, which can be as often as you like.

5 Year Fixed Rate Bond

Our 5 Year Fixed Rate Bond offers a guaranteed interest rate of 4.55% AER every year for 5 years.

The minimum lump sum that you can save is £1,000 and the maximum is £125,000. Additionally, your savings are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), so you know your money is safe.

It's important to understand that you will have to commit to saving a lump sum for 5 years, so it's designed for saving money you won't need to access in the short-term. However, if you can save a lump sum for this period, then you'll receive a rate of interest that is guaranteed for this period of time.
