Shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw is urging councils that are considering not enforcing Sunday trading laws, allowing stores to open for longer, to proceed with caution and guarantee that it is strictly a temporary measure until the immediate crisis has eased.

Argos continues to trade online, encouraged by the Government - Usdaw is seeking to safeguard members' safety and incomes

Under current Government guidelines Argos has closed their stores, but continue their online click and collect service from stores inside Sainsbury’s supermarkets. Customers are not permitted to browse or purchase goods in store. The Government states that ‘online retail is still open and encouraged’, it does not state that online retail must be for essential goods only.
