Asda Express workers pay to go above the real Living Wage after discussions with Usdaw

Date: 19 March 2024 Retail trade union Usdaw has welcomed Asda agreeing a substantial pay increase for all hourly staff at Express stores, Food Services and LEON.
From 1 July, the hourly rate of pay will increase to £12.04, an overall increase of 8.4%. The national living wage will apply from 1 April.

Jayne Allport - Usdaw National Officer said: "We very much welcome the company’s commitment to and investment in staff. This over 8% pay rise puts staff above the real Living Wage and among the highest paid shopworkers.

“The cost of living crisis has been extremely difficult, with too many workers struggling to make ends meet. The least our members deserve is the dignity of decent pay and this deal will make a big difference.”
