Usdaw General Secretary Paddy Lillis said: “The first thing we must all do as people and organisations involved with the Labour Party is to acknowledge the profound hurt that has been caused to the Jewish Community by Labour’s failure to deal with antisemitism. Keir Starmer is right to apologise on behalf of the Labour Party and we stand with him in doing so.
“There can be no excuses for the shameful behaviour found by the investigation and there can be no delay in the implementation of the EHRC’s recommendations. Usdaw welcomes Keir’s clear commitment to implementing the recommendations including the creation of an independent complaints process and we commit to working with him to ensure that this happens.
“We stand with Keir and the Labour Party in their mission to root out antisemitism and rebuild trust with the Jewish Community.”
