Joanne McGuinness – Usdaw National Officer says: “Our supermarket workers and those in the supply chain have been under unprecedented pressure as they respond to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. They are providing the essential service of feeding the nation, so we very much welcome Morrisons commitment on the bonus scheme.
“We continue to work with Morrisons management to improve safety and welfare procedures to help protect staff. We also call on customers to stay calm, respect shopworkers and practise the necessary hygiene measures to help limit the spread of the virus. Particularly to take note of the Government’s instructions to stay at home and only shop for what you need. We all have to work together to get through this crisis.”
