John Hannett – Usdaw General Secretary says: “There are local elections in many parts of England today and I urge everyone to use their vote. You can try to ignore politics, but politics won’t ignore you. Decisions made by those elected today will affect important local services that our communities rely on.

“I am asking Usdaw members to vote Labour, as the only party that consistently stands up for working people and supports Usdaw’s campaigns. Labour-run councils are making a real positive difference all over the country. Our link with the Labour Party is hugely important, because working together we can improve workers’ lives and win for members.”
