Conviviality brand Bargain Booze will be sold to wholesaler Bestway in a deal that could save 2,000 jobs

Date: 09 April 2018 Conviviality confirmed the sale of its retail business which includes Bargain Booze and Wine Rack, to UK grocery retailer and wholesaler Bestway for £7.25m. Following the announcement Usdaw has called for urgent talks to understand what this deal will mean for its members.
Paul Taylor – Area Organiser says: “Clearly this is a very worrying time for our members, with all the uncertainty that goes with the sale of a business. We are working with the company to ensure that the staff are protected through the sale process and we’ll be seeking an early meeting with any new owner. In the meantime, Usdaw is providing our members with the support and advice they require.”
