Devastating news for workers at Alliance Healthcare in Livingston

Date: 31 October 2016 Today Alliance Healthcare announced proposals to change their distribution network in Scotland. The Company are proposing to takeover and invest in an existing DHL (Boots) operation in Coatbridge which would mean the closure of the existing Alliance Healthcare site in Livingston.
Daniel Adams - Usdaw National Officer says: "Alliance Healthcare have informed us of their proposals regarding their Scottish distribution network. The proposals in regard to the potential closure of the Livingston operation will be devastating news for the loyal and hardworking staff at that site.

“Usdaw is committed to using the consultation period to interrogate the business case behind the proposal with a view to safeguarding jobs, maximising future employment in the business and securing the best deal possible for staff. We are providing our members with the support, advice and representation at this time of uncertainty."
